The Sciton MicrolaserPeel™ is successful in treating such skin conditions as fine lines, wrinkles, scars, acne scars and pigmentary problems. The process is individually tailored to the patient's condition. The procedure is designed for people who expect better results than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels, but have little time for a prolonged healing process. The advanced Sciton® laser skin rejuvenating treatment precisely removes the outer most layer of the skin.

Process: A topical ointment anesthesia is applied in the office to anesthetize the skin that will be treated. Our physicians then use the Erbium laser's high energy to remove the superficial layer of skin. The first portion of the treatment is virtually painless with the help of our forced air dermal cooling system to remove the thin, protective dead layer of the skin. This allows the next portion to proceed rapidly, following the application of the anesthetic ointment.

Recovery: Patient recovery from the Sciton MicrolaserPeel™ is rapid. Once the procedure is complete, patients can drive themselves home. Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble a sunburn with mild weeping, peeling and redness fading after the first three or four days. Patients are usually able to return to work within several days. Makeup can also be applied in a couple of days following treatment. Discomfort can easily be managed with a pain reliever.
