The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a true non-ablative photo skin rejuvenation technique with little or no down-time which diminishes hyperpigmentation, sun spots, spider veins and signs of rosacea.
This purified protein reduces the activity of the muscles that cause lines to form over time. Following the treatment, visible results can be seen within days and last up to 4 months. If you discontinue treatment, the lines will gradually look like they did before treatment.
An evaluation is always necessary since not all skin colors, nor skin conditions can be treated. Usually 1 to 3 treatments are needed at intervals of approximately three weeks, and retreatments may be required as the need arises.
WHO ARE CANDIDATES FOR THIS TREATMENT?
Most people, including children, may be treated. However, your doctor should determine if your condition is suitable for the treatments. This may require a consultation visit.
WHAT IS A TREATMENT LIKE?
Treatment involves a pulsed light, similar to the flash of a camera. You may feel a sensation of a slight pinch or snap of a rubber band. No local anesthesia or pain medication is required.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
You may experience some short-term side effects. This may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling, which usually goes away within a few days. In rare instances, there may be some bruising, blistering or temporary pigmentation changes. It is essential that you inform your doctor of any recent sun exposure as this affects your treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
One to three treatments are usually needed. Each session generally lasts 15 to 20 minutes. Each patient’s response may vary.
ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON MY ACTIVITY AFTER TREATMENT?
You can return to work the same day and resume all regular activities. You should limit exposure to the sun, and sun block is highly recommended.
CAN INTENSE PULSED LIGHT TREAT ACNE?
We have treated many cases of acne in its different stages and found it improves the condition significantly.
